From the Sea to the Studio

Imagine a day out in the Caribbean, sailing along the crystal clear turquoise waters, maybe sipping on a rum punch as the island breeze whips through your hair, and looking up at the bright blue sky and taking note of billowing sail, pushing your vessel forward through the following wind.

Painted on old worn catamaran sails, my Nautical Bohemia Collection serves as a metaphor for the journeys that we all go on... these sails that I’m working on are worn and tattered and wrinkled after being beaten up by the sea, then tossed aside and replaced.

I want to be Iron like a Lion

Often, my art illustrates the landscape of Texas, the Gulf, and the Caribbean, but when an amazing client asked me to illustrate a collective of African images, I fell in love with the process. I found an inherent strength in studying and rendering images from a continent built upon ages of vibrant culture and wisdom.

Finding Motivation through Small Achievements

One of the luxuries of the Knox/Henderson neighborhood is its walkability. Even when I have a car to drive, I often choose to walk because it feels relaxing to meander along the bright, manicured, city sidewalks.
