Life is a journey. We are the captain of our own ship and we trim the sails. We may lose our compass. Sometimes storms will obstruct our vision and we may fall off course.
We may feel exhausted, devastated, undone, but that is only an illusion—it’s just a leg of a beautiful adventure.
It is our ability to love ourselves through the heavy rain that ultimately pushes us forward through the following winds, because when we allow love to guide us, we'll always find our way back into the light... that's what Nautical Bohemia is all about...

Using mixed medium on retired catamaran sail from San pedro, belize, my Nautical Bohemia Collection serves as a metaphor for the life journeys that we all go on.
These sails that I’m working on are tattered and wrinkled after being beaten up by the sea.
They were replaced, tossed aside and left under the captain’s house, almost forgotten about.
By using nautical-themed, pop art inspired imagery that illustrates the dichotomy between life and… the thing that comes after it all, I’m creating a dialogue about what it might look like to trust that beauty exists, even in our most trying moments.
