The Power of Women

Women are powerful.  Until about three months ago, I have to admit that I didn't totally understand how much power we actually have.  After an unsettling turn of events, watching the female presidential candidate get defeated by the antithesis of feminine values, I allowed myself to wallow in pity for a day or two.

Then, a force beckoned me.  It was a message from my Source, explaining to me that something beautiful must be created as a result of this unsettling news.  I could tell that this calling for a paradigm shift was bigger than just me as an individual artist, but I knew I had to react just the same.  That same day, this quote from Toni Morrison came through my news feed:

This is precisely the time when artists go to work.  There is no time for despair, no place for self-pity, no need for silence, no room for fear.  We speak, we do language.  That is how civilizations heal.

I had no doubt in my mind that creatives and passionate souls were waking up and beginning to illuminate a culture that has been suffering at the hands of ego.  What I didn't realize at the time, was that this shift would be led by the passionate, adventurous hearts of women.  The Women's March is the perfect example of this awakening... millions across the nation protesting peacefully, without resulting in violence or arrests.  This speaks volumes toward a woman's graceful ferocity.  People have started to listen.

As more and more women continue to wake up and take the reigns, inspiring, and implementing new ideas and leadership roles, and, as more men continue to embrace our energy, I believe that fantastic changes will occur.  They might be subtle and require patience, but that's the beauty of women.  As our intuition guides us, we can foresee positive, passionate change, even through states of  duress.  We know it's our time to emerge with our powerful grace.  We know that the Universe is ready for us to tread through the murky waters and from the depths of the seemingly darkest places, unearth a beauty that has yet to be understood by man.  We've stood back and watched, calculatedly, taking notes.  Now it's our time, collectively, to share our dynamic gifts and be the breathtaking change that our world so desperately deserves.
