In my novel, Sketches from the Heart of a Texas Artist, my protagonist and adventuress, Mona Lamar, travels from Texas through the Caribbean as she runs from her shadow of despair, and learns about herself in the wake of sexual trauma. As I got nearer to the end of my first novel, something astonishing happened. I began to find myself in places that I had personally never been, but were all too familiar. Then, I realized that I was experiencing what I had written for my character, Mona Lamar. She came to life inside me, and as I wrote about her acceptance of her call to adventure, I had been inadvertently manifesting my own journey, simultaneously. Literature is a powerful medium; words are powerful tools. Through the process of writing, I learned that it’s possible to not only imagine, but to live and experience any adventure I desire, for even the twists and turns have come to light.

In addition to my fiction, I have published several unique journals for you, so that you can begin to write your own destiny… enjoy the adventure.

xoxo,

Margaret Elizabeth Hulse
